Into Mercredy Lunaris's world!!!

Hi there!

This week it's time to introduce you the winner of our drawing contest. Now, her interpretation of the gypsie theme is everywhere on our posters and flyers, and you'll see more of it in December!
Mercredy Lunaris is a very special friend of mine (we live at about 2 kilometers from each other). We share a passion for spicy food (and we really mean spicy, you know this kind of food that makes cry, hiccup, runny nose, and so on... The problem, if we consider it as a problem, is that we don't react anymore to spice power even if it's hell's burning for the mouth...). I'm her official cat-sitter, and her non-official cake-eater ;) We also speak too much... A simple question by phone, which just needs a simple answer, often ends in a 2 (or more) hours of chattering, or gossiping hehe!!! So no more bla bla let's meet Mercredy!!!!

Hello! Could you tell us who is hiding behind this nickname?

Hello! My name is Mercredy and I live in Rennes in Brittany (France).


In order to better know you I’ll give you a theme, and you’ll have to tell me the tree first things that come to your mind and tell me why ;)

Let’s begin with some places:

My home, in my own world.

La Réunion island (in the Indian Ocean) because I have my roots there and my parents are still living there.

Paris because I have so many souvenirs in this city since my childhood. I like to spend a few days there and fully enjoy it (Museums, tearooms, shops, monuments, etc…)


Then tell me about some smells:

My cat, I love to smell him (We should join a club with Akadoud! :D). I feel it comforting and soothing.


The smell of cakes while they bake… Usually I like the smell of cooking because I love cooking spicy meals and baking pastries.


The smell of Nature (forest, mountains, seaside, fields, etc…)

Some moments:

When I’m home, reading a good book on my sofa, with my cat and a latte Chai tea.


I like being in the middle of nowhere, almost desert spaces, on the seaside, into a forest or at the top of a mountain. Sometimes it could be freaking but it allows me to free my mind and to breathe.

The moments spent with my parents, I don’t see them as much as I would like to because of the distance.

And we end with some animals:

Cats and all the felines, if I could own a tiger or a lion without any risk of being eaten it would be great! They are fascinating, I love their glances.


Dogs, I have very good remembering with the four dogs which lived with us during my childhood.

Forest animals: wolfs… They are like big dogs with cat’s glance.

And also foxs, owls, squirels, hedgebogs, deers, etc…

Well, in fact I like every animal ^^. I hate seeing them suffer... I tend not to understand how one can hurt them.

What do you do in your everyday life?

At the moment I work as educational assistant in High School and I’m in charge of some hours in plastic arts.

I am also a freelance illustrator, and at the moment I work mainly in association with Akadoud for our collection for le Jour B, and I’m also working on my stand.

Hum, interesting! And now could you tell me more about your Blythe related work? From where does your inspiration come?

At first, I began drawing Blythes especially to sketch my customisation’s projects on paper before working on the doll itself. Then I did portraits of my friend’s Blythes as a present, or during our meetings.

Blythes are a great source of inspiration because each doll gives something different according to itself, but also according to its owner personality. When they arrive in their new home, they became such a person with its own story and its own universe. I’m very sensitive to it, so I try to give these feelings through my drawings.


One day, while I was still doing my illustrations as they come, I had the opportunity to meet my friend Akadoud who ask me if I would like to work with her. So was the beginning of our collaboration, and now my Blythe-inspired drawings are parts of her jewellery creations.

I’m also inspired by my friends, by my surrounding, my instant emotions, songs, and pictures from everywhere. Everything was kept in my mind… I have a topic, an idea, I take my pen and I try to do something. Sometimes it’s all about a portrait, and sometimes the Blythes become the heroines of a story…

I customized some Blythe dolls including Daybee, which was the doll offered by the staff of le Jour B last year (it was a work in collaboration with morganours (Tomate Cerise) who sewed the outfit).

I also sew but I miss time to do it more.

Oh! My friends always say I’m a “frangeuse de Blythe” (which means in a French slang language: the girl who cuts bangs to the Blythes).

Moreover how did you discover the Blythe dolls?

At the beginning (in 2006, if I try to remember), I fortuitously found some pictures on the internet, because I was already interested in dolls’ world (BJD, pullips). I was first impressed by their big eyes. I despite subscribed to the forum “This is Blythe” but only because I was curious about them. Then I found my first Blythe in the Buy and Sell section. It’s a customized Candy Carnival. And then everything gone fast, I became a Blythe addict.


Some Blythe’s crush ?

Princess a la Mode and Heather Sky, I both don’t own them.

Cali, a custom doll owned by Akadoud (I obviously don’t own her :D but I already tried to kidnap her).

Otherwise I really like a lot of customized doll, but listing them would be too long.

We are going to meet you in person on le jour B 2011. What do you like in taking part to this event?

For me it’s like a rendez-vous between friends: I’m going to meet again some awesome people and meet some new ones, and everything will be surrounded by our passion in order to spend a great time.

Well… During the past year I learned how to crochet after failing with knitting :D. I also rediscovered the Victorian and Edwardian times through my readings (big fan of Jane Austen, among others) I like very much the aestheticism of this period.


I’m also in second childhood with “My Little Pony Friendship is Magic”. I’m super fan of Rainbow Dash (Pegasus + blue + rainbow = ♥_♥).

I think I’m going to stop now… My cat is moaning and groaning behind me, because it’s late and time to go to bed… :D

Salut, dis-nous qui se cache derrière ce pseudo !!!

Bonjour ! Je m’appelle Mercredy et j’habite à Rennes en Bretagne.

Je vais te donner un thème et tu devras nous dire les trois premières choses qui te viennent à l’esprit et me dire pourquoi ;) Commençons par des lieux :

Chez moi, dans mon petit monde.

L’île de la Réunion, parce que mes parents y vivent, et que j’y ai mes origines.

Paris, car j’y ai plein de souvenirs depuis mon enfance. J’aime y passer quelques jours, et en profiter à fond (musées, salon de thé , boutiques , monuments, etc… ).

Des odeurs :


Mon chat, j’adore le sentir (On va faire un Club avec Akadoud! :D ). Je trouve cela réconfortant et apaisant.

L’odeur de gâteau dans le four …et de cuisine en général car j’adore cuisiner épicé et faire des pâtisseries.


L’odeur de la nature (forêt, montagne, bord de mer, champs…).

Quelques moments :

Chez moi, un bon livre, sur mon canapé avec mon chat et un Chai Tea latte.

Etre au milieu de nulle part, dans des endroits presque déserts, au bord de la mer, au milieu d’une forêt, ou au sommet d’une montagne. C’est parfois flippant, mais ça me permet de m’aérer l’esprit et de m’oxygéner.

Les moments passés avec mes parents, que je ne voie pas beaucoup à cause de la distance.

Et enfin des animaux :

Le Chat et les félins en général. Si je pouvais avoir un tigre ou un lion sans risquer de me faire manger ce serait génial ! Ils sont fascinants, j’adore leur regard.


Le chien, j’ai de très bon souvenirs avec les 4 chiens qui ont vécus avec nous pendant mon enfance.

Les animaux de la forêt : le loup… c’est un gros chien mais avec le regard intense du chat.

Et le renard, hibou, écureuil, hérisson, cerf, etc…

En fait, j’aime tous les animaux ^^. Je n’aime pas les voir souffrir … j’ai tendance à ne pas comprendre comment on peut leur faire du mal.

Que fais tu dans la vie ?

Je suis actuellement assistante d’éducation et intervenante en Arts Plastiques.

Je suis aussi illustratrice freelance, et en ce moment je travaille principalement en collaboration avec Akadoud pour le Jour B, et je travaille également à la préparation de mon stand.

Hum, intéressant ! Et peux-tu m’en dire un peu plus sur ton travail en rapport avec les Blythes ? D’où te viennent tes inspirations ?

Au début, c’était surtout pour mettre sur papier mes projets custos que j’ai commencé à dessiner les Blythes . Puis j’ai commencé à dessiner celles de mes amies pour des cadeaux et à l’occasion des rencontres Blythe.

Les Blythes sont une grande source d’inspiration car elles dégagent quelque chose de différent propre à la poupée même, mais aussi à la personnalité du propriétaire de la poupée. Chacune d’elles devient, quand elle arrive dans sa nouvelle maison, un personnage qui a une histoire et un univers. Je suis assez sensible à ça, alors j’essaye au mieux de le retranscrire dans mes portraits.

Un beau jour alors que je continuais à faire mes petites illustrations ici et là, j’ai eu la chance de rencontrer mon amie Akadoud qui m’a alors proposé de travailler ensemble.C’est ainsi qu’est née notre collaboration, et que mes illustrations d’inspiration Blythe ornent ses créations bijoux.

Mes inspirations me viennent aussi de mes amis, de ce qu’y m’entoure, de mes émotions du moment, et d’images ici et là qui sont restées dans ma petite tête, d’une chanson … j’ai un sujet, une idée, je prends mon crayon et je me lance. Parfois il en sort juste un portrait, parfois elles sont les héroïnes d’une histoire…

J’ai aussi réalisé quelques custos, dont celle de la première édition de Jour B, Daybee, en collaboration avec Morganours pour l’outfit.

Et je fais aussi un peu de couture, mais peu par manque de temps.

Ah oui ! Mes amies disent aussi que je suis « frangeuse de Blythes » ;)

D’ailleurs comment as-tu découvert les Blythes ?

Au début (en 2006, il me semble ) je suis tombée sur des photos sur internet, un peu par hasard, car je m’intéressais déjà au monde des dolls ( bjd et pullip ). Leurs grands yeux m’avaient impressionnée au début. Malgré tout je me suis inscrite sur le forum « This Is Blythe » par curiosité, et j’y ai acheté ma première Blythe, une Candy Carnival Custo. Ensuite tout s’est enchainé. Je suis devenue une « Blythe addict ».

Des coups de cœur blythiens ?

La Pam et la Heather Sky que je ne possède pas.

Cali d’Akadoud (que je ne possède pas non plus :D et pourtant j’ai essayé de la kidnapper).

Sinon, il y pas mal de custos que j’admire, mais la liste serait trop longue.

On va te retrouver lors du jour B 2011. Qu’est ce qui te plait dans le fait de participer à cet évènement ?

Pour moi c’est comme un rendez-vous entre amis : je vais revoir des personnes formidables, et je vais en rencontrer de nouvelles, et tout ça autour de notre passion pour partager un bon moment.

Euh …Cette année je me suis mise au crochet après un échec au tricot :D .Je me suis aussi replongée dans l’époque Victorienne et Edwardienne par mes lectures (grande fan de Jane Austen, entre autres) J’aime beaucoup l’esthétisme de cette époque.


Je suis retombée en enfance avec My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, grande fan de Rainbow Dash (pégase + bleu + arc-en-ciel = ♥_♥ )

Je vais m’arrêter là … Il y a mon chat qui râle derrière moi parce qu’il est tard, et qu’il est l’heure d’aller se coucher… :D
